Letters from Sue: September 2026

October is one of the prettiest times of the year in Pecan Plantation.  The cooler temperatures, colorful leaves and slower pace of the season make it a wonderful time to enjoy friends, family and the things that matter most.

As I look around our Woman’s Club, I am especially grateful for each of you. Your kindness, generosity, and willingness to get involved are what make this club such a special place. Whether you're helping at an event, serving on a committee, attending meetings, or simply welcoming someone new with a smile, you help create the warm and caring spirit that defines our club.

Fall is always a busy and rewarding season, with opportunities to learn, serve, and spend time together. I hope you'll join us as we continue supporting our community, building friendships, and making a positive difference through the work we do.

Did you know the Pecan Plantation Woman's Club is responsible for most of the Christmas decorating throughout Pecan Plantation? Our Christmas Decor Committee works closely with Daniel Van Patten and his outstanding Operations crew to decorate not only the exterior but also the Clubhouse, PAC, Marina, and Tennis Center. While Operations hangs the outdoor lights, our committee creates wreaths, swags, and other indoor decorations. In fact, planning for the 2026 holiday season began as soon as the 2025 decorations were taken down.

PPWC can make this holiday tradition possible through the generous support of the Pecan Plantation community. Funds raised from the annual Christmas Tour of Homes, Nostalgic Nibbles Shoppe, and—new this year—sales of the PPWC Cookbook help make Pecan Plantation a Christmas wonderland. We hope you'll support these efforts and help us continue this cherished tradition.

Thank you for your friendship, encouragement, and continued support of the Pecan Plantation Woman’s Club. It is a privilege to serve as your president, and I look forward to sharing many wonderful moments with you throughout this season.

Enjoy our upcoming events by making your reservations early so that you don’t miss out on a fun time that PPWC has planned for us. I am sure these events will fill up early.  See you there!

We rise by lifting others!

Sue Lewis

PPWC President
